- Ownership and Acceptance
1.1 My Career Path (“the Platform”) is operated by Atlantic Technological University (“ATU”) with a registered address at ATU Letterkenny, Port Road, Letterkenny, F92 FC93.
1.2 By accessing and using our website, you confirm your acceptance of these Terms of Service (“Terms”), including any additional terms and conditions and policies referenced herein and/or available by hyperlink.
- Applicable Law
2.1 These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Ireland.
2.2 Disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved amicably between the parties.
2.3 My Career Path reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be uploaded to our website.
- Consultation and Responsibilities
3.1 Consultation meetings on My Career Path will typically last 30 minutes.
3.2 Method:
- Online meetings will take place via Microsoft Teams. Ensure your device is properly set up for MS Teams access.
- Attend meetings in a quiet, confidential environment conducive to discussion. Meetings should not take place while driving or in public areas.
- Recording sessions without prior approval is not permitted.
3.3 Roles and Responsibilities:
- The Career and Learning Pathways Advisor will establish their role and agree on discussion areas with the client/student.
- Client Commitment
4.1 The participant agrees to:
- Approach the pathway with curiosity, open-mindedness, and agility.
- Invest a minimum of three hours per week over six to eight weeks to complete the programme.
- Attend one-to-one sessions, ask questions, and complete assigned tasks.
- Allow themselves periods of reflection to explore possibilities and enjoy the process.
4.2 My Career Path materials are the intellectual property of ATU. The material is confidential and protected. Unauthorised use and/or sharing may result in legal action.
4.3 Participants are responsible for reviewing the booking criteria and platform navigation on mycareerpath.ie.
4.4 Programme enrolment is on a first-come-first-served basis upon receipt of fee payment.
- Payment of Fees
5.1 Payment schedules and potential late payment penalties are outlined in the respective invoice.
- Online Subscriptions
6.1 Confirmation of online subscriptions is sent via email after payment verification.
6.2 Users receive access to MyCareerPath for 12 weeks following date of registration.
- Travel Time
7.1 Travel fees may apply and will be agreed by both parties prior to contract formation.
- Cancellation
8.1 Cooling-off Period:
- 8.1.1 Participants may cancel within 14 calendar days of order confirmation for a full refund minus a €25/25 administration fee.
- 8.1.2 8.1.1 will not apply if the service has been accessed during the cooling off period.
8.2 In the event of general cancellation, programme fees are non-refundable except where the programme fails to run or where relevant notice at 8.3 (below) has been followed.
8.3 Efforts will be made to accommodate requests to switch booking dates, subject to availability.
- Programme Cancellation
9.1 My Career Path reserves the right to cancel programmes due to circumstances beyond our control. Fees paid will be refunded, or alternative arrangements will be made.
- Responsibility
10.1 Participants are responsible for their personal account and must not share account details. Account sharing may result in account suspension.
10.2 Participants are responsible for adhering to the relevant application procedures for university/college programmes or recruitment competitions.
10.3 Participants are responsible for meeting programme attendance and eligibility criteria.
10.4 While My Career Path endeavours to provide valuable guidance and support to participants, ultimate responsibility for decisions made based on our advice rests with the participant/parent or legal guardian where relevant.
- Minors/School-leavers
11.1 My Career Path requires parental or legal guardian consent for minors to participate in our programme or consultations. By enrolling a minor, the parent or legal guardian acknowledges and agrees to these Terms on behalf of the minor.
11.2 Parents or legal guardians are encouraged to be actively involved in their minor’s participation in My Career Path programs. They may attend consultations or review programme materials as deemed appropriate.
11.3 Personal information of minors will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws, and parental consent will be required for the collection, processing, and storage of such information.
11.4 Parents or legal guardians have the right to request access to their minor’s records and may do so by contacting My Career Path by referring to the contact information below.
11.5 While My Career Path endeavours to provide valuable guidance and support to minors, ultimate responsibility for decisions made based on our advice rests with the parent or legal guardian.
11.6 By enrolling a minor in My Career Path programs or consultations, parents or legal guardians acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to these additional terms regarding minors.
- Hours of Work
12.1 The My Career Path online platform is accessible 24/7 subject to scheduled maintenance.
12.2 Appointments with Career and Learning Pathway Advisors are normally available from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday.
- Legal Advice
13.1 My Career Path may seek legal advice where necessary.
- Social Media Platforms
14.1 Social media interactions are subject to platform terms and privacy policies.
- Data Protection
15.1 My Career Path complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) concerning the collection, processing, and storage of personal data.
15.2 By using our website or enrolling in our programmes, clients consent to the collection and processing of personal data provided to My Career Path. This data may include but is not limited to names, contact information, educational background, and career interests.
15.3 Personal data collected by My Career Path is used solely for the purposes of providing career guidance and support services. Anonymised data may be used for programme administration, communication, and improvement of our services.
15.4 My Career Path maintains strict confidentiality and security measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. We employ industry-standard security protocols and regularly review and update our security practices.
15.5 Personal data will be retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in these Terms or as required by law. Participants have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data held by My Career Path.
15.6 My Career Path may disclose personal data to third-party service providers, such as cloud hosting providers or payment processors, strictly for the purposes of delivering our services. We ensure that such third parties comply with data protection laws and maintain confidentiality.
15.7 Personal data collected by My Career Path may be transferred and processed in countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA). In such cases, we take appropriate measures to ensure that data transfers comply with GDPR requirements for international data transfers.

15.9 My Career Path reserves the right to update our Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our data processing practices or legal requirements. Updated Privacy Policies will be posted on our website, and participants will be notified of any material changes.
15.10 By using our website or enrolling in our programs, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy regarding the collection, processing, and protection of personal data.
