MyCareerPath shortlisted for 2026 Education Awards

MCP nominated in Most Innovative Digital Transformation category

Atlantic Technological University’s MyCareerPath has been shortlisted in the ‘Most Innovative Digital Transformation’ category for the forthcoming Education Awards 2026.

MyCareerPath, previously nominated in the Best Industry/Business – Academic Collaboration section in 2024, is one of 10 nominees in the Most Innovative Digital Transformation’ category, with the winner due to be announced at the annual Awards Gala at Johnstown Estate, Enfield, on Thursday, 16 April.

In shortlisting MyCareerPath, the adjudication committee recognised the ATU project as a bespoke online staff career development programme, reimagining how career guidance is delivered.

MyCareerPath, which is funded by ATU’s Higher Education 4.0 Project under the Human Capital Initiative (HCI) Pillar 3, combines one-to-one and personalised guidance, career assessments, and eLearning resources to support professional growth, enhance employability, and help staff navigate organisational change effectively while cultivating a skilled, adaptable workforce.

Reacting to the announcement, MyCareerPath manager Bridie Killoran said: “We are delighted to be nominated. When we began this project with the support of N-TUTORR to develop the Staff Development Career Pathways, we could not have anticipated the level of impact the programme would achieve. The timing was particularly significant, coinciding with a period of substantial organisational change across Atlantic Technological University.

“This initiative offered staff structured one-to-one mentorship and tailored learning pathways, enabling them to navigate their professional futures with clarity and confidence. More than a development programme, it has become a safe space for reflection, growth, and lifelong learning.”

Higher Education 4.0 Project Lead for Careers and Learning Pathways, and university lead at ATU for N-TUTORR Transforming Learning, Dr Carina Ginty said N-TUTORR was delighted to partner with ATU MyCareerPath on the staff development programme.

Dr Ginty continued: “This innovative digital initiative is an excellent example of how technology can meaningfully enhance professional development. The platform provided an engaging, accessible, and user-centred experience, empowering staff to reflect on their skills, explore career pathways, and take ownership of their development.

“Overall, this digital innovation has significantly enhanced the staff experience and demonstrated the value of forward-thinking and collaborative approaches to learning and development.”

Meanwhile, the nominees in the Most Innovative Digital Transformation category are: Atlantic Technological University – ATU MyCareerPath; Maynooth University – My Maynooth on Moodle; National College of Ireland – LibMaps; National Learning Network – A Strategic, People-Centred Approach to Embedding Responsible Generative AI; Phlow Academy – Transforming Secondary Learning Through Pedagogy-Driven Digital Mastery Systems; StudentVolunteer.ie – Platform+; Technological University of the Shannon – TUS Digital Collabs; University of Limerick – AV upgrade Department of Biological Sciences at the Limerick; University of Limerick – Scaling High Quality Video Lecture Production in the Kemmy Business School Digital HUB; and University of Limerick – UL ePortfolio Enterprise Adoption for Assessment Reform.

ATU’s HealthCraft – Building Healthy Habits in Primary Aged Children Through Minecraft was shortlisted in the Best Collaboration Award – Domestic (Public Good, Culture & Social Impact) category while ATU’s Póstaeir san Oireachtas (PsO) has been nominated in the Career Impact Strategy – Industry Engagement, Placements & Work-Based Learning category.
