Today marked the launch of the dedicated Employability Skills Course at Atlantic Technological University (ATU). This innovative programme, developed in collaboration with N-TUTORR, is set to enhance the career development and employability skills of ATU staff.
High Demand for MyCareerPath Programme
Originally designed to accommodate 50 participants, the overwhelming demand from ATU staff has led to an additional 25 places being made available. This enthusiastic response has also resulted in the establishment of a waiting list, indicating the high level of interest and perceived value of the programme. Plans are already in motion to run a further programme in the Autumn to accommodate those who were not able to secure a place this time around.
Tailored Learning for Career Growth
The MyCareerPath programme offers a unique and tailored learning experience designed specifically to meet the needs of the ATU team. Running over six to eight weeks, the course requires seven hours of self-directed learning and includes over two hours of one-to-one mentorship. Upon completion, participants will be awarded a N-TUTORR MyCareerPath digital badge, recognising their achievement and new skills.
The programme’s benefits are substantial:
- Personalised Guidance: Participants receive four clinic sessions with a dedicated Career & Learning Pathway Advisor (CLPA).
- Tailored Learning Solutions: Access to a variety of learning opportunities customised to ATU’s training requirements.
- Extensive Resources: Over one thousand online training modules and access to a Career Development Platform for three months.
Bridie Killoran, Careers and Pathways Manager at ATU, highlighted the significance of the programme, stating, “MyCareerPath aids ATU in unlocking staff potential and assisting them in their career development. We are delighted with the response, and it goes to show the high regard that the MyCareerPath programme has among ATU staff.”
MyCareerPath was developed under the Higher Education 4.0 Project, funded by the Human Capital Initiative Pillar 3, which supports projects aimed at enhancing innovation and agility in response to future skills needs.
We look forward to the success of this programme and the positive impact it will have on the careers of ATU staff. For more information or to book an appointment, please visit our MyCareerPath website.
